The OceanX Team is excited to share this unique activity with you. Leaving the V&A waterfront harbor, you will discover some of the heritage sites before stopping for that perfect Instagram photo of the famous beauty, Table Mountain.
The V&A Waterfront harbour plays a massive role in the history of Cape Town. From the first settlers, Jan van Riebeeck building a small refreshment station to Queen Victoria's second son constructing the breakwater for protection of their ships.
On this historical 45min boat ride though the V&A Waterfront harbour, you will be shown various heritage sites by boat, whilst acquiring historical facts of the importance of the construction of the breakwater and the birth of Cape Town's first harbour.
During this trip you may also have the chance to see dolphins, whales, penguins, sun fish and much more.
Tour Details
Upon arrival at the shop you will be met by the friendly OceanX crew, followed by the completion of paperwork. The experience starts with an informative safety and trips briefing. After the briefing you will don your life jacket and head to the boat. Enjoy a 45 minute boat ride full of historical facts and incredible heritage site viewings. Additionally you can marvel at the stunning views of Table Mountain. If conditions allow you will venture out to the Granger Bay area keeping a close eye on the ocean to spot potential marine life such as (whales, dolphins, seals, penguins and the allusive sunfish). Bird lovers are also in luck as Cape Town offers a variety of pelagic bird life species.

Route
Majority of the time will be spent marveling at historical heritage sites of the iconic V&A Waterfront Harbour. If sea conditions allow the Skipper will venture out of the Harbour towards the Granger Bay area. There could be a potential of spotting marine life. The Skipper & guides try their utmost best to find and show you the amazing marine life Cape Town has to offer. The route is not specific as the Skipper will head in the direction of where the marine life is spotted. The route is very much weather dependent and at the discretion of the Skipper, who will make the final call.
Prerequisites & Minimum Age
Minimum of 7 years old (height dependent). Complete the necessary paperwork and acknowledge our Terms & Conditions.

Cape Town has extremely unpredictable weather which changes on a daily basis throughout the year. The safety of our clients is Top Priority and we assess ocean conditions constantly to determine most favorable days and times. Any potential changes to your booking will be communicated with as much notice as possible. It is strongly advised to allow flexibility for this trip.
What To Bring
Windbreaker or jersey for insulation against the wind. Sunblock , hat or glasses for sun protection. Binoculars (if you have any). There are locker facilities to store your personal items.
