Duration: 2 days
The PADI Rescue Diver course with Ocean Experiences based in the V&A Waterfront in Cape Towm is an important and crucial step in expanding a diver’s knowledge and experience beyond a purely recreational level. Rescue divers learn to look beyond themselves to consider the safety and well-being of other divers.
Scuba divers describe the PADI Rescue Diver course as the most challenging, yet most rewarding course they’ve ever taken. Why? Because you learn to prevent and manage problems in the water, and become more confident in your skills as a diver, knowing that you can help others if needed. During the course, you learn to become a better buddy by practicing problem solving skills until they become second nature. Plus, the course is just fun – it’s serious, but still allows for lots of laughter in between the focused learning.
Day 1 - Complete paperwork and review the theory with your instructor as well as a final exam administered. After trying on your scuba equipment you will head off to the pool for an orientation and are introduced to the essential skills of a rescue.
Day 2 - You then head off for the open water where you further skills and then manage various accident scenarios.
