Known to many simply as “the red bus”, City Sightseeing has been providing the very best tours in Cape Town for many years. The buses have become their trademark and the tours that started out with just two routes have grown into many and have diversified.
City Sightseeing has made guided tours of Cape Town and surrounds convenient, affordable and fun. The red double-decker buses are distinctive and the vast majority of their tours all start outside the wonderful two oceans aquarium in the V&A Waterfront. One cannot really miss the terminal, despite some current construction work.
The most popular and most well-known tours from City Sightseeing are what were once just called the red route and the blue route. These two tours are now the Cape Town City tour to table mountain and the Cape Town Mini Peninsula tour. Each tour is a hop on and hop off tour, the first with 11 stops on the way to and from Table Mountain’s awesome cable car. The second takes passengers around some of the most scenic places in Cape Town including the famous Kirstenbosch Gardens. These two tours are highly recommended for anyone who needs to get their bearings in the Mother City or who has limited time. The two routes cram so much in that they seem impossible.
A number of new tours have been added to the Cape Town City Sightseeing repertoire. Routes now include a compact and attraction –filled downtown tour with 7 stops and a Constantia Wine route tour. Another wonderful addition to the tours is rather romantic and the Cape Town Sunset Bus is really quite special.
More recently, Cape Town City Sightseeing has added the Franschhoek and Stellenbosch Tours. These mark a new era in traveling just that bit further than before. As something even better, one can even include a city sightseeing tour with a 25-minute helicopter flip to make it really special.
Prices for City Sightseeing tours are well priced and with the addition of the Cape Town Blue Route Pass entry to three attractions onthe mini-penisula tour is now included in the price of the ticket.
